October gone in a flash

Its been so long since I did a summary blog post, its about time don't you think!

So whilst I've not been around much, I have been busy

I managed 5 customer quilts, 3 of which were custom quilted

then there was a little bit of secret sewing, now known as Market prep for Katy

there was a cushion too, but I will do a separate post about this lot, I think its fair to say Priory Square is very special and deserves a little more attention.

and of course I finished one of my own quilts

Which I already blogged about

and a small teachers gift at the special request of the teenager

So, whilst you may have got the impression I was ignoring you all,
I was indeed a tad busy!

So, I am going to link this up with Lynne at Lillys Quilts for  Fresh sewing day,

Fresh Sewing Day

See you there!

Already?

November!

It was definitely a busy month around these parts, with birthday gifts, quilts, customer quilts, and then a couple of secret things along the way too!

With 3 large customer quilts, (well 4, but I can't show you that one)

and teaching a 3 week beginners patchwork course,
so no wonder the last week was a little under par!

So if that was October, I can't wait to see what November brings!

Autumn? No thank you

As a farewell to August I'm pleased to see, in true British style, the weather will
treat us to a late Indian summer for the first week of September!

So that means it time to recap on what August produced from the QP Studio

Brit Bee Blocks finished, 2 quilts and a runner (I know I haven't blogged about it yet) and a bountiful harvest from the allotment.

add to that 5 customer quilts, it was a busy month!

Linking this up with Lynne's Fresh Sewing Day,
time to go check in with everyone else's progress :)

I'll be back with a finish tomorrow :)

let remedy that shall we!

Next on the list is the FAL round up ...

Marching along

seems March has started without me ...

so I better look back at February which flew by ...

I got caught up with Bee Blocks, some of which still have to make their way very north, others have been hand delivered

as always fabric, and baking. pouches, a bag (are you shocked!)
a customer quilt, shop samples, and I even managed to quilt one of my own quilts

I'm linking this up to Lynne's Fresh Sewing Day
(a little late, but there all the same!)

phew, and its already a week into March, and what a week its been!

but that's for next time!

Farewell January

Wow, February already!

Hopefully the snow and exceptional cold is gone, and we can warm
our hearts in February  ....

another busy month, and to get me started a little baking as always!

finished a quilt for me, an infinity scarf, Bee Blocks (of which the very astute of you will notice you haven't actually seen because I'm still stressing over its partner block)  a monster bee block, a couple of new quilts started, one zippy pouch and a matching drawstring pouch, a trunk show, and 2 customer quilts!

Phew! it felt like a hard slog at times, I'm looking forward to the challenges that February will bring :)

I'm linking  this post up to Lynne's Fresh Sewing day ...

so head on over and take a look at what everyone else has been busy doing

Looking Forward ... by looking back

It was a busy year, there's no denying it!
and December was no different!

4 quilts quilted for others
prize winnings from Katy and The Fat Quarter Shop
Christmas makes, secret Santa's and stuff that never got its pic taken
Cake!  there's always cake
a finished quilt - Secret Garden Stars
my Swoon top pieced
and
of course I got sucked into the #strippytripalong

Its been a great year, though the weather may have sucked at times and my allotment is neglected,
the highlight was going to the Fat Quarterly Retreat in London and, not only meeting up with all the members of the Brit Bee, but meeting so many on-line friends as well as making new ones.

its hard to say what has been my favourite quilt of the year, there were quite a few,
some more stressy (Festival of Quilt Challenge springs to mind!) than others, but this one sums up how I want to remember 2012
soft faded sunshine with happy memories attached

and perhaps as the sun is shining I may be able to get a better pic today!

I'm looking forward to the challenges that 2013 is set to bring,
some are already in the diary
some planned, some complete curve balls
like the shower stopped working, electrician will be here tomorrow  :)

so I'm linking this to Lynne's Fresh Sewing Day

2013 - Friends Fun Frolics and Silliness!
(and perhaps a little better organisation along the way!)

Fresh New Month equals Fresh Sewing Day!

Really?  October already?

Would someone please tell me where September went to?

looks like a slower month, but hey, that's ok, my body has yet to adjust to the change in season , so hopefully by the end of this month I will have got used to dark nights, and feeling like I should be hibernating!

yeah I know, get over myself and get on with it!

so a few Bee Blocks, some sewing, some practice sewing, and some quilting, there may have been a smattering of cake, jam and chutney production too!

Speaking of cake, whilst the Diva lays in bed and off school, (yep poorly child in this house)  cake production continues for this afternoons quilting meeting, and we are trying something new, and seasonal.

I'll let you know how it goes :)

So now you've seen what I've been up to, Head on over to Lynnes blog where the linky party is and see what everyone else has been up to.

And whilst you're there, how about taking a look around some of those smaller blogs, you might be surprised at what and who you find!

Just Sayin!

Awe-gust!

well considering it is still summer, August has been and gone, and I feel like I missed it!
but it seems I didn't after all ...

I'm up to date on my Bee blocks,  2 framed purses, 2 rounds for Ab Fab Free Bees (I have one more to do) and 4 yes 4 quilts!  And away at Festival too!

So how was August for you?  I'm linking this up with Lynne's Fresh Sewing Day, why not head over and see what everyone else has been up to, and check out some new to you small blogs too!

right, back to the bottom of the garden for some more creativity!

Sew Fresh Sewing day ?

I'm not so sure I qualify on the sewing stakes,
as there doesn't seem to be a lot of it being done at the moment ...

to make up for not posting in May ... due to the FQR and the small point I'd already gone ...

I give you my May ...

I might add there were 7 customer quilts in there as well as 2 of my own  :)

moving swiftly on ....  June ...

my meagre offerings  ... all I can say in my defence is that jam production has started in earnest!

today I picked 5 kg of strawberries from my allotment!

and on the sewing front, there has been a somewhat func going on ...

so if you manage to find my mojo, .... please return it, I'm kinda lost without it  :)

I'm linking this up with Lynne's Sew Fresh Sewing Day,  so head on over to see what everyone else has been up to  ...

July ...  you and I need to have a serious talk ... you get me!

Happy Quilting!

Gone in a flash!

I blinked I think!

major fabric purchases
Pearoom block of the month
Brit Quilt Swap - Pillow Fight
Modern Christmas Table Runner
Ghastlies sewing machine cover
Brit Bee blocks for Laura Jane

it feels like October came and went with the sunrise and the sunsetting

and then one of my quilts was featured on the Banner of Sew We Quilt

here's to a productive November :)

So that was September

Is it just me, or is it really hard to say goodbye to September, this mini heatwave we are having it feels like it should be August not October!

With the return to school and work, I've slowed down a little ...

I'm linking this up with Lynne's Fresh Sewing Day, head on over and take a look at what everyone else has been up to over the last month.  And don't forget to head back to Lynne's on Monday to wish her a Happy Birthday!
