Another Finish!

Yes!  That's 2, I said TWO finishes this year!

and I might ask you to spot the difference!

I give you Carolina Christmas
aka the Monster Quilt!

finished, done, and on the bed!
Sorry, it was dark and no time for gratuitous, posing shots!

I started this one back in November 2009, designed by Bonnie K Hunter as one of her Mystery quilts, and in true Bonnie style, lots and lots  and lots of little pieces.  To be fair, the smallest piece is 2 1/2"  so not tinsy winsy.

I got it to almost flimsy back in 2010, with the centre done, and then New Year 2011 I decided it's time had come.  I set to with the aim of finishing it.

Finish the top I did, and I loved it so much I had to quilt it straight away!  No hanging around the studio with all the other tops for this baby ... no sireeee!

With a serious dose of free hand feathers all over, with Superior King Tut thread on top and Superior So Fine in the bobbin, I am thrilled with the results .

So back to the spot the difference ....

somebody may need a good talking too!

Happy Quilting!

Beautiful quilt Trudi, you should be very proud of yourself.

I don't think you can complain about the staff. Just be happy you had someone tall enough to hold it up for you. It is stunning!

Gorgeous quilt in beautiful colours :)

Wow! It is a monster quilt, stunning! But without any oversized monsters around to hold it up, I guess undersized humans have to do! Jxo

Finished, done, on the bed...and just gorgeous!!! I love Bonnie's quilt designs. You must send a pic to her, she hasn't done a Show & Tell in a while and this one will definitely make the grade!

Just lovely, Trudi. Love the pattern and the choice of colours, and no doubt, the feathers will be just superb. Well done on UFO #2 completed!

fabulous quilt! And pic 2 reminds me of something my hubby and/or kids would do, totally! LOL. They might even hold up one of those fingers by itself 0.o

That is one beautiful monster of a quilt. I think I will need to resort to my mum's clothes line when I have my own monster finished (it's sitting pitifully in the corner waiting).

That one is well worth the finish Trudi - but we need a close-up of the quilting!
