Happy New Year!

Hello 2014, we have much to anticipate!

I am so looking forward to the challenges this year has to offer

I intend to live by a word again,
last year my word was Focus,

and looking back, I was pretty focused.

so this year, I've thought long and hard about what word I will be inspired by

and its been difficult!

Create, its a good word, one I can relate to, apply to all areas
Possibility, another good word
Inspire,  Grow.

What word will you be keeping in your thoughts this year?

I'm still trying to decide, so in the mean time I'll leave you with one of the last finishes of 2013.

this is one of my old tops, and was pulled from the pile to become a gift for my partners' mother,
simply quilted, bound and gifted, and I'm pleased to say, she was thrilled!

So to you all I wish you health, happiness and joy for the year ahead.

Camp Slaonie Winter Stashbusting

As the US is gripped in the throws of a massive snow storm, Pat Sloan couldn't have chosen a better weekend for her Camp Sloanie Winter Stashbuster event.

How does it work? Take a pile of pre-cut strips, add a little yardage, and a sprinkle of magic twinkle from the Sloan Ranch....

.. and you get yourself some blocks...

repeat, and make as many or as few as you want, and this is what I came up with so far!

I've got a few more rows to sew together, but it's late and I'm tired (seems to be a re-occurring theme lately)!
More on this one tomorrow. Get yourself over to Pat's blog and have a look at some very talented people who are joining in. There's a flickr group too!
Happy Quilting!

Mellow Yellow

I've been working on these for some time, the deadline to have the pair finished is fast approaching. This is the first one, trimmed and ready to add the binding. (now done)

I spent most of today quilting the second one. It too needs to be trimmed and the binding adding. That's tomorrows job.

I've not really done block specific quilting much before, but am very pleased with the results. I'm going to have to concentrate on this next year. I also turned the quilts to complete the inside borders.

The plan, tomorrow morning trim and add the binding, pm I have a quilt group meeting, Tuesday a quilt class at the LQS, and Wednesday, deliver 2 completed quilts! Nothing like a deadline is there? LOL I love a challenge!

Do you like?
