Brit Quilt Swap

Well, nearly everyone has received their quilt for the Brit Quilt Swap, and my partner has received hers too so I can now reveal, (as if you didn't already know) that I made this quilt ...

for Lynne  :)  And she loves it.  (as do I) !

I even put in a label!  Over and above the real one!

And I sent a bunch of goodies too!

Now, I love a good giggle, and on Monday my Swap Mama e-mailed me about the confidence of my partner that she was soooooo sure my quilt was heading her way, and although very late in the day, well perhaps.......

we could just have a little fun,  so with the help of a couple of others, I rushed home from work, posted on the Flickr group that I'd sent my quilt, and headed to the bottom of the garden to find an orphan, (or should that be awful) block or something to turn into the quickest most rubbish quilt ever!

I give you the rubbish quilt...

I know, it doesn't look that bad, but really it is!

Just look at the binding? I promise you this quilt was pieced, quilted and bound in about 30 minutes flat!

It even had it's own label  ...   :)

So to carry on with the spoof, I used a fake name on the package,  I pinned the real quilt to the back of the rubbish quilt so that you could not see it or it's label,  and I put my card in with the quilt after it had been folded so that the coins were what you see when it was opened.  It was wrapped so that Lynne would not know until it was all opened that it was actually from me .  Sneaky, I know, but a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do, right?
Thanks must to to Ethne for posting that she had received my quilt, and to Hobby Lass for playing along with the spoof.  I'm pleased to report, we got her a good'n!

Thanks Lynne for being such a good sport too :)

And I didn't show you the most amazing quilt sent to me by Judith who entitled it ...
'For the Love of Green'

It's pegged to one of the pictures in my living room, and I just love it!

A fab card, a handmade pincushion, (which is perfect!) and a huge bar of Orange and shortcake Galaxy (which really was delicious!)

Thank you Judith, I love my quilt, and I love that you got to make it for me too  :)

So this weekend I'm helping Martha with a quilting retreat, and tomorrow Sue is hosting the Christmas Quilt Along, so I hope to get a few bits done for that in the afternoon  :)   And on Sunday Charlie is hosting Part 2 to the Christmas Quilt Along!

Busy, busy, busy!

Happy Quilting!

The quilt you made is amazing AND then you get a totally gorgeous one made for you. Life is good! I think she swap has been totally marvellous. I haven't heard of one unhappy person and that sounds like it is not the norm for some swaps.
