Nice quilt ... BUT!

I promised a finish, and a finish I give you ....

This Portuguese tiles quilt has been a top for at least a year!  But it's quilting time had come!

I'm really pleased with the all over quilting design, and how it looks and plays out on the quilt design...

... and I just LOVE this little design the Emily and I fell upon at the last quilt retreat....

But.....

... when I put it on the bed ....

it just didn't make me happy.   I mean, I love the quilt, but it's just not a summer quilt is it?  I'm the sort of girl that changes the quilt on the bed with the weather, my mood, well, just because I'm bored with it and it's time for a change.  Are you the same, or is it just me and my quilts?

So this is what was on the bed beforehand....

pretty, flowery, summery, nice enough....

But I was ready for a change, and the new quilt just doesn't holler from the roof tops to me at the moment, so it was back to my all time fave!

Gotta love Amy Butler fabrics to make you happy!

So now I'm looking for the perfect pattern to make a summer quilt with these....

Oh, did I forget to tell you ....  Ooops, they made me buy them!  Really they did!

Happy Quilting!

I'm sure when the darker nights draw in again you might feel more drawn to Portugese Tiles - or what about using it as a throw over a sofa! The new fabrics look divine - what about joining us in the Kaleidoscope QAL over at Don't Call Me Betsy! Jxo

The quilt is lovely, beautifully quilted and I think it's subtle summer like early morning fresh mist just before the sun comes up. Gorgeous - goog luck finding your next pattern.

Tula Pink prince charming?!? I've been trying to resist because of the customs/shipping charges but as there are no signs of them in the UK yet I think I am going to have to get at LEAST the honey bundle!
Your finished quilt is great, that quilting is fantastic!
One day when I have enough quilts made to change my bed with the seasons I think I'll be like you changing every so often!

The new quilt is absolutely gorgeous, but it does blend a bit with your wall colour, which may be why it's not talking to you. Perhaps you need to redecorate? ;o).

Yes you are right -- it just does not go well with your room. It goes fantastic with MINE though!!!
I love the subtle colors and your quilting pattern adds a soft feminine touch!!

I think the quilt is gorgeous...it reminds me of sand, the ocean and a gorgeous sky...I could enjoy it all summer long! =)

You did an amazing job, either way. =)

The quilt is gorgeous, but I wonder if you would feel differently if the weather was mid-summery, which is where we are supposed (ha ha) to be about now. I think it is very cooling and the weather is not hot.

I am with you though, I change quilts cos it's a new season, cos I'm bored or just plain old cos I can!
