catching up with myslef

In the interest of playing catch up, this is a summary of the last week, or some of it at least!

My colleagues broguht me these, a lovely surprise thank you Mandy Donna and Sue, they continue to bloom and brighten my days!

there may have been a whole day spent in my jammies reading a book,

there was some of this ...

followed by a day out, a quick pit stop at the Bramble Patch, a mooch around Canons Ashby, and a cup of tea and world famous chocolate flapjack at Susan's too!

And a Happy Easter tooQ

With cake baking!

and a lovely quick delivery to Laura Jane, who surprised me with these!
(deserves a blog post of its own!)

so these were my spoils from Saturday, a little treat

and I had to take cake into work

oh and I may have got a new bag too!

oh and the delivery?  Pretty huh!

Oh and I managed some of my own stuff too!

Pieced up my Rapture quilt, now waiting an opening on the frame (its on FAL list)

and a little quilting of the batik oldie

So, that's been my week, how was yours?

(if I dont reply, I am having problems with Yahoo, damn thing keeps sticking everything in my trash folder, and then deletes it all twice a week!  I may need a wig, I've done everything they say and its just getting worse!  sigh)

FAL Quarter 2 - Madness

Oh, its madnes I tell ya!
but hey, we are all in it together right?
time to declare my own state of insanity:
#1 Sunnyside Quilt (carried forward from last qtr) - just needs quilting and finishing!

#2  Kaffe/batik quilt top (carried forward from Qtr 1) - just needs quilting and finishing!

I know there are some that really need this off my list and cannot wait til my FAL list is batik free! I'll try to oblige this month :)

#3 Union Jacks - need to finish this one and get it ready to send to a freind the other side of the pond.

#4 Rapture Quilt - oh how I want to get this one done!  I have a plan and everything!

#5 Scrumptious HST quilt - another I need to finish soon.  Needs to become a class sample

#6 PB&J Kaliedescope quilt -  if any are going to slip, this is it!  (carried forward from Qtr 1)

#7 Oriental top (carried forward from Qtr 1) - just needs quilting and finishing!

#8 Vintage Moder Quilt - would like to get this one quilted at least so I know if I am going to enter it into Festival this year!

Its been hanging up waiting for a quilting opening for some time.

#9  Sprinkles - I pattern tested this for Sue recently, (must blog about it) and I'd like it done fast!

#10 More Pattern Testing, this one for Megan - love it so much I must finish it!

currently picked up and labeled into a bag waiting for an opportunity to sit and sew.
#11 and just for Sarah - Hunters Star quilt - Gulp!  this one is a monster, with more piecing than a box of dropped crockery!  Jury's out I'm afraid - but it made the list all the same!

Hmm, 2011 on the box!

#12  Big Star quilt (carried forward from Qtr 1) - honestly, I just need to finish binding the thing!

#13 and I forgot about these, til I got home, 2 Baby Quilts, part of  #BritBeeForever and Hadley is waiting to add the binding, on her list, so I need to quilt, trim and post to Hadley, so she can bind.  Definitely a joint effort here by the whole of the Brit Bee!

#14 Peppered Cottons quilt - these have been together since I bought them, ooooh at least 2 months ago!

nothing like a deadline (even a self imposed one!)
So, there you go, some oldies, some goodies and some that haven't seen the light of day for a few years!  I managed more than a 50% finish rate last quarter, lets see if I can do any better this time!   Linking this up with all the others over with Katy.

I only have 6 customer quilts booked in so far, 2 articles to write, a custom quilt to make from scratch and write a pattern for, and teaching dates, that I know of in the next 3 months!  I should manage something!

Finish Along Quarter 1 Reckoning

Is it time already?

Ok, I did good, considering I took delivery of a new long arm quilting machine, and have been flat out working since then!

#1  Swoon Quilt - only need to quilt and bind it, only!

Done!

I am thrilled to have finished this one, so much so, its on my bed and I love it!

#2  The big star I pieced back at the Kitchen Guild Weekend Retreat -  so quilted and bound, again.

well, its quilted, and I've started the binding, so not much more to do, likely candidate for quarter 2?

#3 This is a Schnibbles quilt I made at least ... ooh, well I cant remember now!  but, quilted and bound is all its gonna take to finish this pretty.

Still a top, still waiting to be quilted :(

#4 And this Kaffe/batik (yes, I have more to come avert your eyes now!) -  again quilting and binding to finish.

Still a top, and still waiting to be quilted :(

#5 Oriental wall hanging type thingy -  quilted and bound!

Still another top, and still waiting to be quilted :(

#6  Cute Linus quilt - quilting and binding for the finish

Done!  Yay, and gifted to Project Linus, more to be read here!

#7 batik stash buster quilt, at least 2009 I made this!  Another to be quilted and bound

Done, and hanging up in the shop ready  to become a class sample!  More here!

#8  PB&J Kaleidoscope quilt -  oooh, some piecing, all the blocks are made, all 58 of them, they just need to be put together, borders added, oh and quilted and bound.

Sadly this remains untouched!

#9  so this little lovely is waiting for the Art Gallery Fabric Pure Elements in Snow to turn up, (tomorrows the day!) so that it can be turned into something along the lines of them there disappearing pinwheels below that I already started.

So one layer cake to miraculously be turned into a finished quilt, much like this below

Another untouched project, its time will come!

#10  Layer Cake Lemonade top, to be quilted and bound

Another finish, and gifted, more here!

#11  the Secret project, still need to have the binding stitched down and a label sewn on!

Finished, and gifted, and blogged here!

So, out of the madness that was a very ambitious list, 5 finishes out of 11 potential, I think is a resounding success!

have you linked up your finishes yet?  When I linked up earlier there were over 300, I'd call that a great start to the year!

Sneaking in a final Finish for Qtr 1

As always, sneaking in one last finish!

This was the Layer Cake Lemondade quilt as it stood,

I quilted it up, and got binding on,

and took it along to the Brit Bee Meet up at the beginning of March,

and I handed it over to Judith,  Its just her! and its always lovely to give and unexpected gift!
(even if it just needs a little hand stitching)

Judith finished the binding and it looks just perfect on her sofa don't you think!

so that's my last finish for Qtr 1 of the Finsih Along!

Ok, now to go sort up a round up of my finishes!

Swoon - (again)

Who knows how I managed to delete my Mothers Day post,
but somehow, I did

Don't ask!

So in the interest of the Finish Along, here is my Ta Da moment for my Swoon (again!)

At the beginning of the year, it was just a top 90" x 90"

It was a case of loading this up and custom quilting it to see how long it would take,
as I had some custom work coming up, and needed a rough idea of how long things would take

I had fun!

so, this is now finished and on the bed, and fully declared (again!) for the finish along!

I may have one more to declare and a round up post to get out there before the deadline tonight!
forgive me the over posting!
