New to blogging

Well, this is my first attempt at writing my own blog. I've been a lurker on many, but thought it was about time I stretched myself to have a go at something new. After all it is a new year!

I'll be chatting about my quilting, hopefully mainly, family life, my study for City and Guilds and my travels. I hoping the travels will be far more extensive than last year.

I've been working on a Mystery quilt called Double Delight by Bonnie Hunter, I just have to add my final border. I'm still thinking about the corners and what to do there. I love Bonnies four patch corners, but I didn't save any of the spare bits, so I'm considering some sort of star to mirror the Rolling Star block instead. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Trudi - good luck with the blog! Its quite something to de-lurk!

I love the batiks in this quilt. I think it looks good as it is .. do you need another border to make it a certain size? If not I would be inclined to quilt as it and bind with the same peachy batik you used in the outer triangles and make the triangles look like the final border.. does that make sense?

Hi Trudi - your blog's looking good so far! I'm your first 'folower' !! I'm loving your 'Double Delight' - it'll be stunning when it's finished - such a lot of work!

Where in Lincolnshire are you? It's one of my favourite counties along with North Yorkshire - we've spent many holidays in South Lincs around the Horncastle area. My brother lives near Market Rasen.

Tracey,

I think I'm a traditionalist, I do love to see a border finnishing off my quilts, but I am planning to use the soft pink batik in the setting triangles for the binding, when I eventually get it quilted.

Hope you like Double delight now the borders are done.

I love Lincolnshsire, it still have that unspoilt feeling in most places. I Live in Lincoln, its such a diverse city, but hasn't quite reached the sprawling stage just yet.
