Stained Dilemma

The lovely Sarah is hosting the Stained Quilt Along, and not to leave one of my Brit Bee lovelies, I'm joining in!

I quickly chose my fabrics, the beautiful stack of Erin McMorris  Summersault paired with some Klona Ice Frappe  (isn't that a fantastic description for a colour!) I got both of these from Backstitch

After reading the cutting instructions I now have a bit of a dilemma ...

I need an additional fat quarter to join in the party

so these are the candidates shortlisted ...

and eclectic collection of Pat Bravo, Kaffe Fasset, Amy Butler, Joel Dewberry, a little bit of Freebird by Momo and some Luuuuurrrrvley Kona Chartreuse!

after a little play, I narrowed the choice down to these

What do you think?

I started cutting, it's a big job, and I've taken Sarah's advice with the labelling and have my Ziploc bags at the ready ...

I've made up my mind, I think, but still have time to change my mind!

In the mean time, Happy Quilting!

  1. I'd go for the wee triangle print but I don't exactly have the best most adventurous eye for fabric so you may wish to ignore me!

  2. From the very first picture I thought the triangle print too, I think it looks like it was just meant to be in there

  3. Triangles for me too! Although, if you prefer them all to be from Summersault, I'm sure you could get away with the 10 FQs - fabrics #10 and 11 both look about half of a FQ and there's a chunk remaining from #9. Most of the others seem to have a little left where you'd be able to cut odd strips?

  4. Oh triangles for me.. but Wandafish is correct ;-) You're going to have such a lovely bright quilt - that Ice Frappe is a fab name and the colour is even more lovely :-)

I am holding off on the cutting for now - I just know I would get it wrong right now - I need a few drama-free days!

  7. I vote stripes. I was totally going with a layer cake for this, until I had a lightbulb moment Friday night and realised I could kill 2 birds with one stone if I used a FQ bundle of AMH that had no purpose, and made the quilt for granny's birthday as it's her favourite colours!
