And the winners are....

Thanks to my daughter, who looked a little perplexed at being asked to choose 3 numbers between 1 and 7, came up with the following:

5 - Sweetypie!
3 - Jan
7 - Kim

So as a birthday present from me, I will make you each a hand made gift and send it to you, you will then pass on this privaledge to 3 more people and pay it forward to them! You get a whole year to do this, so no need to pressure yourself.  We all have busy lives in one way or another  :)

Jan and Kim if you would e-mail me your snail mail so when I have made something ready to send I know where it's going.   Sweetypie, no need, I think I know where you live!  LOL

So now I need to get busy! or should that be busier!

Happy quilting!

(sorry no pics, still on a borrowed lappy)

Due to technical difficulties...

There will now follow a short intermission!

Ok, a blast from my childhood, I'm sure some of you remember the Beeb's Test Card?

As for the technical problems, my laptop is currently away being checked to see if it can be fixed after an 'oops, I didn't want to do that!' moment!  Rest assured I am following along on a borrowed lappie, but all my pics, address book, files ... etc, etc... are all away with the faries at the moment!   Oh and a virus hit me too, so being laid up in bed hasn't helped the situation!

I'll be back soon!  In the mean time, Happy Quilting!

Free to a good home!

Yeah, I thought that might grab your attention!  LOL

Last year I did a Pay it Forward, I got  a lovely gift from Greg, and paid it forward to 3 lovely ladies.  One of those was Linda the Hand Quilting Nana,  who has run a couple more pay it forwards, for which I was a recipient.

Last week I recieved a wonderful squishy in the mail with a lovely note from Linda.  Thank you Linda!

This beautiful angel is made from an antique feedsack quilt, and I just love her.  I have to find a special place for her to live.  Thank you again Linda  :)

So you got this far, and I did say free to a good home, so if you would like to receive a handmade gift from me, and are willing to pay it forward to 3 more poeple, please leave me a comment.   Thats all, no hoop jumping, you just have a year to pay it forward to 3 more people so that should fit in to everyone's busy schedules.   I'll do a draw of names on Monday 19th April so leave a comment before 12.00 noon British Summer Time and you'll be in with a chance!

Happy Quilting!

Walk in the Park ...

Today was the first day I managed to walk to the Country Park that is close to my home.  By close I mean a 10 minute walk to this point for the average person.  I'm not quite back to average yet!

The purpose of this walk, as well as to enjoy the warm spring weather, a little light exercise and the pleaure of my partner's company, was to gather some images of texture for the next leg of my City and Guilds.

Weekend Roundup

Doesn't seem much to report, I managed to get my  Wonky Shoo Fly Block Lotto blocks made for April.  And how quick and easy they were too!

I also got the 3rd block for the Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along made, again another quick and easy task.

So what was I doing for the rest of the weekend I hear you ask,  well I did get 3 more samples done for my City and Guilds.

To say my fingers are a little sore, well, lets just say, it's been a while since I last did quite so much hand quilting!

I've been finishing off my Qubee quilts too, but I'll have to save them for another day, sorry.   I did get a package in the mail, I'll post more about that tomorrow :)

Happy Quilting!

Missing...

I'm here, I've just been a little overwhelmed!  So what have I been up to, I hear you ask?

I got this little table runner pieced, made from a few charm squares, the patern is from 'Simply Charming' by Sarah Wellfair.  A great little book that has some real little gems in it.  This one I'm hoping to get this quilted this weekend.

I can't show you what I've been doing with these, but the scrpas give you an idea of the colours I've been working with.  A couple of charm packs from Arcadia by Moda.   I've been doing something for Charlie over at Qubee Quilts.  It's a bit cloke and dagger I know, but trust me, it's worth waiting for!

April has arrived, and there are several things I'd love to have completed during march, but didn't!  Hmmm, my siggy blocks didn't make it to Rachel in time, but I'm pleased to say we hatched a plan for them so they still have purpose.  The Block Lotto wonky logs remian in my stash!  But I'm off out to my sewing room to get the fabric for this months Wonky Shoo Fly blocks as soon as I'm done here!  Go take a look at Sophies beautiful little doll quilt she made using these blocks.  It's just fab!  I've also recieved my fabrics for Aprils The Bees Knees quilting bee blocks for Margaret.  And I have another block to make for the Jelly Roll Quilt Along run by Moose on the Porch Quilts.  And finally I MUST get my house blocks made for V at Bumble Beans done and in the post.  Here are the details of her Basic Blocks Gather.  Guess I'm setting myself quite a lot for this month!

I've been busy working on my City and Guilds too, I'm almost done with this module.  The extended Easter weekend will be a busy quilty weekend for me!  Here's to a peaceful Easter to you all.
